Riesling
7 000 Ft
Riesling from the slopes of Badacsony Hill, grown on basalt rock. Clean pale yellow colour with green highlights. Moderate intense nose with unripe citrus lemon and lime character with cantalope. Balanced mineral notes with flint, white pepper with delicate citric blossom. On the palate the wine is light with moderate alcohol and integrated acidity. Noticable residual sugar rounded up the wine and give some weight to the palate. The finish is dominated by smokey minerals. (Tamás Czinki MS)
Description
Winemaking
Gentle whole-cluster pressing. Must settling and fermentation at 18°C in oxygen-permeable plastic tanks, followed by racking after two months. Aged in tanks; after fining and filtration in June, the wine was bottled in July 2024.
Vintage
An excellent vintage where everything aligned perfectly. The coolest spring since 1997 lasted until June, accompanied by ideal rainfall. Blooming occurred at the end of June, by which time summer had sufficiently warmed up. July and August were particularly hot, with temperatures around 35°C, leading to weaker fruit set and looser cluster structures. Harvest took place without rain. This vintage stands out for its wines characterized by low pH, vibrant acidity, rich aromas, and remarkable concentration.
