Kéknyelű from the slopes of Badacsony, grown on basalt soil. Clear and bright white wine with pale straw color and watery rim. The nose is delicate with restrained fruit of unripe pear, crunchy white peach, and lemon peel. Light floral character with peach blossom and jasmine. Salty rocky minerals balance out the fruit and add complexity to the nose. On the palate, the fruits are citrus dominant with peach skin and sweet apple. Minerals are present on the palate and dominate the finish with salt, candlewax, crushed rock, and flint. (Tamás Czinki MS)

Description

Winemaking

Gentle whole-cluster pressing. Must settling and fermentation at 18°C in oxygen-permeable vessels, followed by racking after two months. Aged in oxygen-permeable vessels; after fining and filtration in June, the wine was bottled in July 2024.

Vintage

Overall, it was a warm but notably rainy year, making vineyard management particularly important. Spring started promising with early budbreak, followed by relatively early flowering. However, summer saw significant rainfall, which delayed the harvest. Picking only began in mid-September with Pinot Noir for sparkling wine, while the last grapes, Riesling, were brought into the cellar in early October.
